Appearance and Properties： A colowless or white，slightly delignescent crystalline powder，sets tree iodine and goes yellow when exposed to air and/or light，easily dissolves in water，dissolves in ethyl alcohol，acetone and glycerol，and is insoluble in ethyl ether. Melting point 680℃。
Use：Used as an analytical reagent，to prepare photographic emulsion，and in manufacture of pharmaceuticals.
